R.A.P.A. which stands for Reynolds Academy of Performing Arts is a Speech and Drama Academy set up and coordinated by Patricia Reynolds.

Why Speech & Drama

Speech & Drama is a wonderful medium through which your children learn to develop these skills in a safe, creative, social, disciplined and learning environment. The focus in class is on helping the student discover, acknowledge and utilise their own self-esteem and confidence through group based work and performance, and of course as an individual. Good speech work, breathing techniques and resonance is essential for all presentation techniques.

Some final points I would like to share with you regarding why I feel Speech & Drama is an essential tool in our developing world.

1 Helps Stretch Senses –  uses imagination, encourages an appreciation of beauty and the arts.

2 Helps intellect –  stimulates the imagination.

3 Helps the quality of both verbal and written communication.

4 helps develop an interest in literature.

5 Expressing physically helps vocally.

6 Aids and develops good posture.

7 Encourages a sense of responsibility and leadership.

8 Encourages us to see another person’s point of view.

9 Improves clarity and quality of speech.

10 Enormous aid to confidence because all work involves speaking out.

Speech & Drama should free the body, mind, spirit and the imagination.

Above all Speech & Drama should be fun.
